Utility Engineer May 21, 2025

Pay: Based on Experience

We are seeking a Utility Engineer to join our partnered client's gas detector manufacturing company in Norwood, MA.

Schedule: Mon - Fri (7am - 4pm)

Pay rate: based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development:
Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) to create 3D models and technical drawings of instruments and components.

Develop and optimize designs to meet performance, weight, and cost requirements.

Conduct simulations and analyses to ensure design feasibility.
Testing and Validation:
Support the testing and validation of prototypes and final products.

Analyze test results and identify areas for improvement.
Documentation and Communication:
Prepare detailed technical documentation, including specifications and engineering reports.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and sales, to ensure seamless product development and launch.
Problem-Solving:
Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during the design, development, or testing process.

Identify and implement solutions to ensure the reliability and performance of Bascom-Turner Instruments' products.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure that all designs and products meet the required quality standards.

Work with the quality team to implement and maintain quality control processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or related field.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).
Strong understanding of engineering principles and design practices.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
