Express Employment Professionals is seeking dependable Food Service Workers to join a school food service team in the East Lansing area. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous food service experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and wants a consistent Monday–Friday schedule.
The Food Service Worker will assist with daily cafeteria operations, food preparation, serving students and staff, maintaining cleanliness, and following all food safety and sanitation procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation and meal service
- Serve food to students and staff in a friendly and professional manner
- Help set up and maintain cafeteria and food service areas
- Keep work areas, counters, equipment, and dining areas clean and sanitary
- Follow proper food handling, safety, and sanitation procedures
- Assist with washing dishes and cleaning kitchen equipment as needed
- Restock food, supplies, and service areas
- Work effectively with other food service team members
- Follow school and food service guidelines and procedures
- Perform other general food service duties as assigned
Requirements
- At least 1 year of food service experience required
- Fast food, restaurant, cafeteria, catering, or similar experience is acceptable
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working around children and in a school environment
- Able to work Monday–Friday from 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
- Able to work as part of a team
- Must be able to successfully complete a background check
Dress Code
Employees are required to report to work in the following attire:
- Closed-toe shoes
- Khaki pants or Dockers
- No jeans
- A T-shirt and apron will be provided
