Underground Cable Technician

Position Overview
We are seeking motivated individuals to join our drilling crew. This role supports all phases of the HDD process, including site preparation, equipment operation assistance, drilling fluid management, and pipe installation. No prior drilling experience is required—just a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with setup of receiving and entrance pits for drilling operations
- Support the drilling crew during pilot hole drilling, reaming, and pipe installation
- Handle drilling steel, hoses, pumps, and other jobsite equipment
- Help mix, monitor, and manage drilling fluid (water/bentonite/polymer mixtures)
- Assist with operation of reclaimers, excavators, and other heavy equipment under supervision
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite
- Follow all safety procedures and communicate hazards to supervisors
- Perform general labor tasks as needed to support the crew
Qualifications
- Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor environments
- Willingness to learn technical drilling processes and equipment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Experience with construction or heavy equipment is a plus but not required
Work Environment
- Outdoor, year-round work in varying weather conditions
- Fast-paced, hands-on environment with opportunities to learn specialized skills
- Travel to job sites may be required depending on project location
