Job Full Description
The Industrial Canvas Sewer is responsible for sewing and assembling canvas and other heavy-duty fabric components used in marine applications.
Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work. Must be able to see details at close range. Use computer-aided design (CAD) or sewing software programs, operating industrial sewing machines, measuring tools, fabric cutting tools.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday: 6:00am-2:30pm
- Long-term position, evaluation hire
Pay
- $21.00-25.00/hour, depending on experience
- Weekly paychecks every Friday
Location and Work Environment
Responsibilities and Duties
- Sit for extended periods while operating sewing equipment
- Occasionally lift and handle heavy rolls of fabric
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by lifting, walking, bending
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Use measuring tools, cutting tools, and computer aided design software
- Prior industrial sewing experience a plus
