Machine Operator – 1st Shift (South City, MO)

Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable Machine Operator to join our production team on 1st shift. In this role, you will operate fabricating machines—including shears, brakes, presses, forming machines, and punches—to cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, and structures. This is a hands‑on manufacturing position ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with metal fabrication equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
- Set stops or guides to specified lengths using scales, rules, or templates
- Position workpieces accurately against stops or align layout marks with dies or blades
- Activate and monitor machines to ensure accuracy during production
- Perform secondary operations such as deburring
- Conduct minor machine maintenance, including oiling machines
- Record completed quantities and documentation required by work instructions
- Perform spot welds as needed
- Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean, hazard‑free work area
Essential Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of operating presses, press brakes, spot welders, drill presses, and hand tools
- Ability to use measuring devices such as micrometers, squares, calipers, etc.
- Ability to read and understand work orders, including required operations and quality checks
