Now Hiring: Shipping Associate with Forklift Experience
Location: Local Battery Manufacturing Plant – St. Joseph, MO
Partnered with Express Employment Professionals

Position Overview:

Join a leading battery manufacturer as a Shipping Associate, rotating through three key production roles. This is a physically demanding, fast-paced position requiring strong attention to detail, reliability, and a solid manufacturing background.

Key Responsibilities:

You’ll rotate between the following positions throughout your shift:

  • Line Worker Class 3:
    Stack batteries on the production line – approximately 4,000 units per shift.

  • DT1:
    Perform quality checks, apply labels, post protectors, and stickers.

  • Line Worker Class 4 (Most Demanding):
    Organize job orders and ensure they are accurately prepared for shipment – handling 4,000 batteries per shift.

Job Requirements:

  • Manufacturing Experience:
    Minimum 1 year of manufacturing or production experience is REQUIRED.
    (Candidates without this will not be considered.)

  • Education:
    High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED

  • Physical Requirements:

    • Heavy lifting required

    • Ability to stand for long periods

    • Use of PPE (respirators, PAPR if needed)

  • Flexibility:

    • Must be available to work any shift

    • Training is on 1st shift (2-3 weeks) before being placed

    • Shifts are assigned by the client – not Express

  • Attendance:

    • Strict attendance policy with a point system

    • Proper call-in procedures are enforced 

    • Failure to follow call-in procedure = grounds for termination

Additional Information:

  • Lead Exposure:

    • Regular blood draws required to monitor lead levels

    • Elevated levels may result in required use of additional respiratory protection

    • Proper hygiene is critical

  • Union Membership:

    • Union initiation after 120 days and completion of required hours

    •
