Job Full Description
A parts manufacturing company in the Springfield area is looking to fill a Inventory control specialist position. Looking for 1-2 years of manufacturing and data entry experience . Must be proficient in Microsoft office Word, Excel, Access and outlook. Ability to adapt to work environment temperature variances, noise, dust and fumes. Ability to lift, push and pull up to 75lbs. Ability to be cross-trained and adapt to new task.
• Review production schedules and requests to ensure timely availability and release of necessary materials, including MRP items
• Pull product from appropriate locations using the FIFO method
• Complete system transactions that include but are not limited to inventory issues, miscellaneous issues, and material receipts
• Communicate proper disposition of WIP material to production team members
• Generate and update various Excel spreadsheets for reviewing cost analysis
• Reconcile and process material returns and perform physical restocking of the returned items in a timely manner
• Use precision measuring equipment to ensure inventory accuracy is maintained
• Review deliveries of purchased items and compare product delivered matches packing slip and purchase orders
• Locate all received materials to appropriate areas and ensure system accurately reflects physical locations
• Keep inventory error rates minimal and within acceptable ranges
• Perform weekly inventory cycle counts and investigate discrepancies to determine cause of variances
• Assist with research and resolution related to receiving errors, inventory move errors, misplaced product, etc.
• Evaluate and organize stockroom for efficient and accurate placement of material
• Establish and maintain order and cleanliness of stockroom and immediate work area
• Maintain an organized filing system of paperwork
• Operate manual and/or powered material handling equipment, as required
• Comply with company policies, procedures and safety standards
• Comply with the Quality and Environmental Management Systems and associated standards
Skills Required
• Typing and 10-key proficiency
• Forklift experience
• Familiar with quality management systems
