The Patient Benefits Coordinator is responsible for verifying insurance eligibility, coverage and benefits. Including but not limited to submitting predeterminations/authorizations, calculating financial responsibility and communicating the same to patient and collecting necessary deposits to proceed with treatment.
ESSENTIAL FUNTIONS:
- Collect necessary deposits
- Data entry in OPIE
- Review practitioners' documentation to ensure appropriate billing
- Insurance claims follow-up
- Assist with claims and submissions and collections
- Schedule patients appropriately for various locations
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Good organization skills
- knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounts receivable and principles basic math skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Work well with others in a team setting
- Microsoft office, excel and outlook
