Job Title: Medical Receptionist

Position Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our dermatology practice. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and play a key role in ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to patient confidentiality and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival
- Answer and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient information and insurance details
- Collect co-pays and process payments
- Maintain and update patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including faxes and emails
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk and waiting area
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical administration is a plus
- Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Proficiency with EMR systems and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, standard business hours. Occasional flexibility may be required.
