Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered trucks and equipment. This role is ideal for hands-on mechanics who take pride in quality workmanship, safety, and keeping equipment operating at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on diesel engines and related systems
- Perform routine maintenance and preventative services (oil changes, brake inspections, fluid checks, etc.)
- Repair or replace engines, transmissions, suspensions, steering, and brake systems
- Use diagnostic tools, software, and technical manuals to identify and resolve issues
- Complete repairs accurately and efficiently to minimize downtime
- Maintain detailed service records and document work performed
- Follow all safety procedures and shop standards
- Communicate repair needs and timelines clearly with supervisors and team members
- Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic (truck, fleet, or heavy equipment)
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulics
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
- Experience using diagnostic equipment and hand/power tools
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in a shop environment
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused
Preferred Skills
- ASE Diesel Certifications
- Experience working on medium- and heavy-duty trucks
- Welding or fabrication experience
- Familiarity with DOT inspections
Work Schedule
- Full-time, day shift
- Occasional overtime as needed
