Heavy Equipment Operator / CDL Driver
A growing environmental services organization specializing in site remediation, mine reclamation, environmental engineering, and emergency spill response is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators / CDL Drivers for a project based in East Helena, Montana. This position reports to the Field Services Division Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and drive various types of trucks, including semi-trucks, side dumps, lowboys, and dump trucks, and possibly excavators, skidsteers and more
- Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment
- Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely transport and delivery
- Comply with all traffic laws and transportation regulations
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance checks on equipment; report any issues promptly
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients
- Follow all safety policies and procedures at all times
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required
- 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) certification preferred (not required for qualified candidates)
- Clean driving record
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds
- Willingness to travel (typically Monday–Friday; occasional weekends for emergency response), primarily within Montana, Idaho, and surrounding regions
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to pass random drug and alcohol screenings
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of project and personnel information
