Skilled Carpenter / Siding Installer - TEMPORARY
Job Summary
Seeking a skilled and dependable Carpenter/Siding Installer to perform siding removal and reinstallation on cabins and other structures located in forested and remote outdoor environments. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a variety of siding materials, possess strong carpentry skills, and be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Pay
- Base Wage: $20.58 per hour
- Fringe Benefit Pay: $5.88 per hour
- Total Compensation: $26.46 per hour
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Remove existing siding from cabins and buildings.
- Install new siding, trim, flashing, and related exterior components.
- Measure, cut, and fit materials accurately.
- Repair or replace damaged framing and sheathing as needed.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and scaffolding safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite.
- Follow project specifications, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
- Work effectively as part of a construction crew in remote and forested locations.
Qualifications
- Previous siding installation and removal experience required.
- Skilled carpentry experience required.
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic construction calculations.
- Experience with wood, fiber cement, vinyl, metal, or composite siding preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds regularly.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and on uneven terrain.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance required.
- Ability to work at heights and use ladders safely.
Work Environment
- Outdoor construction work on cabins and buildings located in forested and remote areas.
- Frequent standing, bending, climbing, lifting, and carrying materials.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions.
Preferred Skills
- Residential remodeling or exterior construction experience.
- Knowledge of building envelope and weatherproofing practices.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
