CNC Operator Position

Newburyport MA

3+ years experience

$25 hr based on experience

 

Job Functions and Responsibilities

1. Edit and load programs using Xilog.
2. Create mix files to optimize machine workload.
3. Calibrate and qualify tooling.
4. Perform machine maintenance and cleaning.
5. Understand and perform CNC area workflow.
6. Capable of understanding 5 axis machining operations (horizontal machining, beveling, etc.)
7. Properly mark and organize parts after machining.
8. Validate accuracy of machined parts.
9. Able to assist programming by processing Microvellum projects
10. Troubleshoot machine issues and perform repairs with CNC Supervisor.
11. Maintain tooling inventory.
12. Understand and practice fixturing techniques.
13. Complete understanding of machine code and commands.
14. Capable of configuring work zones.
15. Capable of configuring CNC drill bank.

 

General Job Functions and Responsibilities

1. Follow instruction and learn CNC operation, architectural woodworking and cabinetry (all aspects).
2. Perform woodworking or other tasks as directed and instructed by the Shop Foreman, CNC Supervisor, or Job Captain.
3. Set up equipment as instructed by the CNC Supervisor, Job Captain or the Shop Foreman, but not before being approved for operation by the Shop Foreman.
4. Operate all equipment as directed, but not before being instructed by CNC Supervisor or Job Captain and approved for operation by the Shop Foreman.
5. Be proficient in casework construction and standard 32mm cabinetry.
6. Be proficient in the woodworking tasks such as, but not limited to, milling lumber, panel processing, ripping, crosscutting, sanding, all equipment/machinery functions (except shaper), case construction, laminating, solid woodwork, door construction, veneer work, gluing, and pressing.
7. Learn basic woodworking techniques.
8. Be familiar with plastic work as it pertains to CNC.
9. Read and work from blueprints accurately.
10. Have an understanding of wood products and their characteristics and properties, as well as the use of materials.
11. Own tools as required by the Shop Foreman.
12. Have good organizational skills.
13. Be able to multi-task and manage workload.
14. Maintain a positive attitude and be self-motivated, energetic, cooperative, and hard working.
15. Be punctual and maintain consistent attendance.
16. Work overtime as required.
17. Be safety conscious at all times.
18. Report any and all unsafe conditions and acts immediately to a supervisor or the Human Resource Manager.
19. Maintain equipment in good working condition and perform general housekeeping duties (cleaning work areas, replacing items used, etc.)
20. Adhere to all Mark Richey Woodworking policies as outlined in the company handbook and safety manual.
21. Be proficient in the use of Windows and Microsoft Office.
