Project Estimator
Our client located on the North Shore of Massachusetts has a Great Opportunity for an experienced Project Estimator.
Must have experience in Millwork Environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management or equivalent required
Salary negotiable based on experience
Primary Focus: Manage all phases of the estimating process. Prepare cost estimates by analyzing material take-offs blueprints and project specifications, to determine the final price for accurate and timely bid proposals. Supervise, train and develop junior estimators.
Job Functions and Responsibilities
• Adhere to all company policies as outlined in the company handbook and safety manual.
• Coordinate scope of work for each project • Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. • Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. • Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements. • Present prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information. • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Prepare budget and general conditions estimates for entire project
• Attend project site pre-bid meetings and site tours
• Work with Project Management to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project and establish a project strategy
• Build effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support Mark Richey Woodworking’s core values • Maintain cost data base by entering and backing up data. • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.
• Assist in developing/facilitating Estimating training programs, and committing to the development of department personnel
Experience/Requirements
• 7-10 years’ experience in architectural millwork or cabinetry estimating/costing and knowledge of construction materials and methods
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management or equivalent
• The ability to use estimating software, MS Office, bid management, online plan rooms and database applications
• Complete comprehension of blueprint and specification reading
• Must work effectively and efficiently under pressure and time deadlines
• Reliability, organizational skills, accuracy, strong attention to detail, and the ability to take on responsibility are key required traits
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization, as well as customers and vendors
• A positive and professional attitude
• Strong computer and math skills
• Ability to multitask while working in a fast-paced environment
