Job Full Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Parts Coordinator is responsible for the purchasing, managing and shipping of parts inventory. This individual will ensure the timely availability of parts to support the plant’s production schedule and customer orders, while optimizing stock levels to meet stated inventory targets and maintaining accurate inventory within the organization’s ERP system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Issues/monitors open purchase orders and acts to expedite/de-expedite parts as needed to support customer demand and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Utilizes the 80/20 concept of Plan For Every Part (PFEP) to determine appropriate safety stock levels through detailed analytics and executes plans to achieve set targets accordingly. Liaisons with operations and commercial leaders to understand future sales forecast and ensure inventory stock levels support future business needs.
- Monitors material consumption vs. forecast. Identifies misalignments in demand vs. supply and potential opportunities for MOQ changes, SKU rationalization, etc. to address such gaps.
- Tracks supplier performance – including on-time, in full delivery rates and quality adherence. Escalates performance issues to sourcing team as needed for support.
- Assists customer service in pricing, availability and lead times for required parts.
- Maintain accurate inventory of parts. Conduct routine cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies found.
- Prepare outgoing shipments and ensure proper packaging and documentation. Assembles parts kits as needed to support customer orders and identify and complete necessary repairs for returned customer product.
- Ensure proper maintenance of Vertical Lift Module (VLM); schedule repairs/maintenance from vendor as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proactive attitude, taking initiative to prevent issues.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and yet think independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a working knowledge of MS Word and Outlook.
- Working understanding of data/root cause analytics
- Working knowledge of ERP Systems (J.D. Edwards preferred)
