Job Title: Sit-Down Forklift Operator / Order Selector
Location: Avenel, NJ
Schedule: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Compensation: $18.00
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Sit-Down Forklift Operator with strong order selecting skills to join our warehouse operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a sit-down forklift to move, locate, stack, and count merchandise, while also accurately selecting and preparing customer orders for shipment. This role requires a strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate a sit-down forklift to load, unload, move, and store products.

Safely transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.

Pick customer orders using order sheets, RF scanners, or voice-directed systems.

Prepare and stage orders for shipment according to company standards.

Verify accuracy of picked orders and inspect products for damage.

Perform daily equipment checks and report any issues or safety concerns.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.

Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Valid forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).

1+ years of experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse or distribution center.

Experience with order picking, staging, and inventory systems preferred.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order selection.

Basic computer or RF scanner skills.

Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a fast-paced logistics or food distribution environment.

Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed.
