Junior Accountant – Edison, NJ (Hybrid)
Full-Time | Hybrid Schedule (3 Days In-Office, 2 Days Remote) | Competitive Benefits Package
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Accountant to join a finance team in Edison, NJ. This role is critical in supporting accurate financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, rebate program management, and audit readiness. You will work cross-functionally with operations, IT, and supply chain teams to ensure financial integrity across the organization.
This is an ideal opportunity for an accounting professional with strong technical skills and a background in consumer products or manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain the General Ledger, including Monthly and Weekly Adjusting Journal Entries (AJEs).

Perform account reconciliations, including cash accounts and sub-ledgers (A/P, A/R, cash receipts).

Assist with month-end closing, financial reporting, and budget variance analysis.

Manage commission calculations, item costing updates, and rebate program tracking.

Analyze and process rebates, including variance tracking, accurate accruals, and forecasting.

Investigate and resolve customer deductions and chargebacks.

Ensure up-to-date customer contracts are collected and organized.

Prepare financial schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.

Coordinate with IT on implementing the rebate management module in Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Support internal accounting procedures and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

2–3 years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for those with experience in consumer products or manufacturing industries.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and formulas) is required.

Experience with ERP systems is required; Microsoft Dynamics 365 is strongly preferred.

Familiarity with Power BI or other reporting/visualization tools is a plus.

Strong understanding of financial statements, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations.

Experience with rebate program management, deduction handling, and customer contract review.

Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
