Account Manager July 31, 2025

Located in FARMINGDALE, NY

Pay: 55k-80k

Job Full Description

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Account Manager to join our team. This is an outside role, where you'll spend most of your time visiting plumbing and HVAC wholesalers, building strong relationships and helping them grow their business with our product lines.

The position begins with a 12–18 month training period in an inside support capacity. During this time, you'll develop deep product knowledge, learn our systems and internal processes, and build a strong understanding of our customers. After the training phase, you'll transition into a full-time Account Manager role with your own territory and customer responsibilities.

Sales Approach:
This is not a cold-calling or transactional sales role. Our Account Managers take a consultative, relationship-driven approach. You’ll help wholesalers understand the value of stocking and promoting our products, and support them in creating downstream demand with contractors. Your success comes from being reliable, knowledgeable, and trusted—not from high-pressure selling.

Training Period Responsibilities (First 12–18 Months):

  • Support our customers with technical assistance, parts identification, and cross-referencing
  • Assist our design team by building submittal packages, project drawings, and other design materials
  • Learn our products, systems, and customer base
  • Join field visits to wholesalers and contractor locations to observe real-world sales and support
  • Participate in hands-on product training
  • Attend industry association meetings to begin building your professional network

Account Manager Responsibilities (Post-Training):

  • Visit plumbing and HVAC wholesalers daily to build and maintain relationships
  • Demonstrate and explain product value and applications in a clear, practical way
  • Encourage and support wholesalers in stocking our products
  • Help drive product awareness and pull-through demand with their contractor customers
  • Provide regular follow-up and technical support
  • Stay organized and proactive using CRM and other sales tools

Qualifications:

  • Previous in-person outside sales experience is required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple follow-ups reliably
  • Comfortable using digital tools for research, documentation, and CRM
  • Early riser—many customer visits begin by 7:00 AM
  • Personable, dependable, and committed to building long-term customer trust
