Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for our Jamestown, NY client. Our client is looking for a Rollformer. The Roll Former is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining roll-forming equipment to manufacture metal components that meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and production targets. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent production.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Setup & Operation

• Configure roll-forming machines, tooling, and dies based on job specifications.
• Adjust machine settings including alignment, roll spacing, speed, and feed rates.
• Load metal coils or sheets into decoilers and monitor material feed.
• Operate roll-forming lines to produce components within required tolerances.
• Complete efficient changeovers for different profiles, materials, and production runs.

Quality Control

• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, gauges, and other measuring tools.
• Compare part dimensions to engineering drawings and work orders.
• Monitor product consistency and detect defects such as camber, twist, bow, or surface imperfections.
• Record inspection results and report any non-conforming materials or deviations.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on roll-forming equipment.
• Troubleshoot issues including misalignment, tooling wear, feeding problems, or mechanical faults.
• Replace worn rolls, bearings, and other tooling components as required.
• Communicate production or mechanical concerns to maintenance teams or supervisors promptly.

Material Handling

• Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and coil-handling equipment (if certified).
• Stage raw materials and remove completed products from the work area.
• Maintain proper labeling, inventory accuracy, and material flow.

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures.
• Use required PPE (e.g., gloves, safety eyewear, steel-toe boots).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following 5S principles.
• Participate in required safety training and meetings.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience operating roll-forming or similar metal fabrication equipment (preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting abilities.
• Proficiency with measuring tools and quality inspection processes.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with programmable or automated roll-forming systems.
• Knowledge of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and their forming characteristics.
• Forklift certification.
• Basic welding or metal fabrication skills.
