Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for our Jamestown, NY client. Our client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with hands-on experience designing products made from sheet steel. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, and prototype new products from concept through production.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new products using sheet steel.
- Create complete engineering packages, including 3D models, Bills of Materials, and production drawings.
- Identify, source, and estimate all required purchased components.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Engineering/Production leadership to implement and maintain quality control standards.
- Communicate effectively with Sales and Engineering teams throughout the development process.
Qualifications
- Prior experience designing products made from sheet steel.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Striker programming software.
- Strong 3D modeling skills using SolidWorks.
- Excellent English communication skills for cross-department collaboration.
- Ability to work well in team-oriented environments.
Pay is between $45,000-$80,000/yr.
