Position: Metal Worker – Fabrication & Assembly
Job Description:
Are you a skilled and hands-on Metal Worker seeking an opportunity to put your talents to work in a dynamic and supportive environment? Express Employment is currently hiring a versatile and detail-oriented individual to join our client’s team in a metal fabrication and general assembly role.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a team setting, understands how to read technical blueprints, and enjoys working with a variety of tools and materials.
Responsibilities:
As a Metal Worker, you will be responsible for supporting custom metal fabrication, layout, cutting, assembly, and more.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Measuring and marking materials based on design specifications
• Using hand and power tools such as drills, table saws, sawzalls, grinders, and torches
• Assisting with metal cutting, fitting, and joining materials as needed
• Performing layout and basic welding prep tasks (welding experience a plus)
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Following production instructions and quality control standards
• Collaborating with team members to meet project deadlines and specifications
Requirements:
• Hands-on experience in metalworking, fabrication, or mechanical assembly
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Comfortable using both manual and power tools
• Basic knowledge of measuring tools and math (tape measure, calipers, etc.)
• Physically able to lift, bend, stand, and handle materials throughout the shift
• Ability to follow directions and work independently or with a team
• Safety-conscious with good attention to detail
• Flexible and open to learning new processes and techniques
Skills:
• Proficient with shop equipment and fabrication tools
• Ability to interpret layout measurements and perform accurate cuts
• Familiarity with metal types, finishing techniques, and mechanical fasteners
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
• Experience in custom or small-batch fabrication is a plus
• Welding or torch experience a bonus but not required
• Commitment to quality, consistency, and safety on the shop floor
Shifts & Schedule:
• Day shift availability preferred (exact shift may vary by client)
• Full-time, Temp-to-Hire opportunity
Pay:
• $18.00+/hour – Pay based on experience and interview performance
