Job Summary
The Topper is responsible for operating and monitoring topping equipment used in the pickle production process. This role ensures jars are properly filled, topped, and sealed according to quality, safety, and production standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities

Operate topping machinery to apply lids or toppings to pickle jars accurately

Monitor product flow to ensure proper fill levels and correct placement of lids

Inspect jars for defects, leaks, or misalignment and remove non-conforming product

Adjust equipment as needed to maintain consistent production quality

Maintain a clean and sanitary work area in compliance with food safety standards

Follow all GMP, safety, and company procedures

Communicate equipment issues or quality concerns to the supervisor

Assist with line changeovers and basic equipment cleaning/sanitation
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred

Prior manufacturing or food production experience a plus

Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks

Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

Ability to work in a team environment

Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime if needed
