Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Plasma Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC plasma cutting machines to produce high-quality metal parts according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, strong technical skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC plasma cutting machines to cut metal materials based on blueprints and job specifications
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders
- Load and position materials on cutting tables using proper lifting techniques or equipment
- Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances
- Perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning and basic troubleshooting
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–3+ years of experience operating CNC plasma or similar CNC equipment preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Basic knowledge of G-code and CNC programming is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with CAD/CAM software
- Familiarity with metal fabrication processes
- Forklift or overhead crane experience
