Our Client in Zebulon is looking for a Production Associate.
Role Summary:
The Production Associate role is the primary role for certified associates trained to safely perform all required duties consistently on the production floor. These roles are 12-hour shift running on a 2-2-3 schedule, including weekend work. We have Day and Night shifts, 6am-6pm/ 6pm-6am.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Support world class culture by consistently demonstrating attitude, teamwork, performance, and personal development. Keep safety and quality as a priority every day.
- Flexibility to adjust to different day-to-day requirements. Depending on business needs, the role will support extrusion, conversion, recycle (regrind), warehousing and quality control.
- Assist in startup, setup, change over, machine operation, fork truck operation, and packaging in extrusion, conversion, regrind and warehousing following established policies and procedures to achieve performance standards.
- Load, change, and blend materials. Support material handling processes for raw materials, work-in-process materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.
- Learn to read and follow all company policies, procedures, specifications, and drawings.
- Inspect, collect, and retain samples by observing, counting, weighing, and measuring product for conformance to company specifications using approved devices; to include math calculations and metric conversions.
- Support 5S and other continuous improvement and problem-solving activities.
- Uphold all OSHA standards and maintain knowledge applicable to the position responsibilities.
- Immediately report any identified safety hazards and incidents to the supervisor, including near miss events.
- Provide self-assessment of performance for reviews and complete all assigned training.
- Perform other reasonable duties as requested, directed, and assigned.
- Ability to perform moderate levels of lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs.
- Use of fingers, hands, and arms to lift, reach, move, and examine equipment
- Able to stand for 12-hour shifts, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, or crouch
Qualifications, requirements, and desired characteristics:
- High school diploma or GED, or ability to achieve within 1 year of hire
- Ability to work safely
- Attendance dependability
- Attention to detail
- Adaptability and flexibility, including weekend work, 2-2-3 schedule
- Able to work with, coach others, and be coached in a fast-paced environment
- Model a great attitude, team dynamics, and individual performance
- Strong writing, communication, and computer skills
