Job Summary

As a Hose Technician, you will be responsible for cutting hoses to length, building hose assemblies using various tools and equipment, and understanding crimping specifications for hydraulic hose assemblies.


Responsibilities

  • Build hydraulic and industrial hose assemblies.
  • Operate a hose crimping machine.
  • Identify thread connections and end fittings.
  • Receive and verify incoming parts, materials, and supplies; maintain stock area and follow sales orders.
  • Perform duties to fabricate, check tolerances, and pressure-test hose assemblies.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Pick up and deliver orders, stock, and supplies.
  • Work safely and exercise proper care in the use of tools and equipment.
  • Detect and report defective equipment, materials, improper operations, or unusual conditions.
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations; maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Wear required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
  • Represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of proven experience in field service work, maintenance, or other hands-on roles.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints.
  • Organization and prioritization skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and verify precise measurements using a tape measure or calipers.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Adaptability to changing situations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as work at heights and in tight spaces.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.

Desired Characteristics

  • Ability and eagerness to learn new processes and systems quickly.
  • Maintenance or belt tech experience preferred.

Work Environment

Work is generally performed in a fabrication shop environment. Noise levels are moderately loud, with well-ventilated and well-lit spaces. Employees may be required to wear protective clothing and follow strict safety regulations, including the operation of heavy equipment.


Physical Demands

The role involves lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity and strength in arms and feet are required to manipulate equipment, tools, and other items. The position may involve standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting for extended periods.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position in a shop environment. Typical work days and hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional weekend work.
