Monday - Friday
Job Summary:
The Pharmacist is responsible for delivering comprehensive pharmacy services in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations. This includes reviewing and filling prescriptions, compounding and dispensing medications, providing drug-related counseling, ensuring proper storage and documentation of controlled substances, and supervising pharmacy support staff. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, a commitment to patient safety, and effective collaboration within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
Medication Management & Patient Care
- Prepare medications by interpreting physician orders and identifying therapeutic incompatibilities.
- Dispense medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals accurately.
- Monitor patient drug therapies and recommend interventions to optimize care and safety.
- Provide pharmacological information to healthcare providers and counsel patients on appropriate medication use.
Operational Excellence
- Organize and oversee pharmacy technician workflow, ensuring accuracy in preparation, labeling, and documentation.
- Verify order entries, medication charges, and inspections for quality assurance.
- Maintain detailed records of controlled substances in compliance with DEA, FDA, and state board of pharmacy regulations.
- Remove expired or damaged medications and maintain inventory integrity.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with federal and state drug laws and institutional policies.
- Conduct nursing unit inspections and support medication-related audits and compliance reviews.
- Promote a safe and clean pharmacy environment in accordance with infection control protocols.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise and evaluate pharmacy support personnel.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Stay current with industry legislation, regulations, and best practices, advising leadership on necessary actions.
Required Skills & Competencies:

Education & Credentials:
- Graduate degree from an accredited college of pharmacy (ACPE-recognized)
- Valid and active Pharmacist License in the State of Ohio
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (required upon hire)
