Are you passionate about food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance? We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator to monitor and verify food safety and quality standards across our production lines. This is a key role in ensuring our products meet company policies, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do
As a Quality Assurance Coordinator, you will:
- Monitor manufacturing procedures across poultry, red meat, and vegetable processing and packaging lines.
- Inspect raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards.
- Alert Production Supervisors and Lead Hands to any product or process issues during production.
- Verify proper labeling, code dating, weights, and adherence to FIFO procedures.
- Support compliance with GMP, USDA, FDA, and local food safety regulations, conducting audits and reporting non-compliance.
- Maintain accurate QA records, including temperature logs, inspection reports, and audit findings.
- Assist with USDA FSIS, FDA, and internal audits, ensuring sanitation and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate QA requirements for import/export activities, including documentation and inspections.
- Train production and warehouse teams on food safety, product quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Support investigations of non-conformances by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and perform other ad-hoc QA-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Post-secondary education in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field is required.
- HACCP certification is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in food manufacturing, preferably in a USDA FSIS-regulated meat facility.
- Previous experience in import/export is an asset.
- Solid knowledge of GMP, USDA, FDA, and local food safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Ability to read and interpret quality standards, procedures, and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with QA or production management software is an asset.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a cold environment (0 °C to 4 °C) for extended periods.
- Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn, adapt, and collaborate in a team environment.
Work Environment
- Primarily on the production floor in a refrigerated food processing facility.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Use of PPE (e.g., gloves, safety footwear, protective clothing) is required.
- Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required based on production demands.
