Job Full Description
We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Rail Processing Operator to work in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This position operates equipment used to process steel rails, including a plasma cutting torch, overhead rail bender, overhead crane, and steel banding equipment.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable working around heavy steel and industrial equipment, and looking to build manufacturing experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a plasma cutting torch to split steel rails according to work orders and specifications.
- Set up and operate an overhead rail bender to straighten processed steel rails.
- Operate an overhead crane to position and move rails throughout the work area.
- Bundle and secure finished steel rails using steel banding equipment.
- Inspect rails for quality, straightness, and proper specifications.
- Perform basic equipment checks and routine maintenance.
- Report equipment or production issues promptly.
- Read and follow work orders and basic measurements.
- Complete required production records and documentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work closely with supervisors and other team members to meet production goals.
- Follow all required safety procedures, including PPE and lockout/tagout practices.
