General Labor - Asphalt Paving & Construction
1st Shift | $18.00/hour | Full-time
Job Summary
General Labor position with established asphalt paving company. Hands-on role supporting paving operations, site preparation, and heavy equipment operation. Outdoor work environment with opportunities to learn construction skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Rake, shovel, and level asphalt for quality paving projects
- Load and unload materials and tools at job sites
- Assist with site preparation and clean-up of paving projects
- Operate heavy machinery as assigned and trained
- Support paving crew with additional duties assigned by foreman/supervisor
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition
Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods throughout shift
- Sit for long periods while operating heavy construction equipment
- Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 40 pounds regularly
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions year-round
- Physical stamina for demanding construction environment
Qualifications
- Construction or general labor experience preferred but not required
- Reliable transportation to various job sites
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow supervisor instructions
- Team player attitude for crew-based projects
- Willingness to learn heavy equipment operation
- Safety-focused approach to construction work
