Operations Manager – Paint | Manufacturing Leadership
Lead multi-shift paint operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement while managing e-coat and powder coating departments using Lean and Rittal Production System (RPS) principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage 3-shift paint operations (load, e-coat, powder coating, unload)
- Execute production schedules meeting quality, delivery, and cost targets
- Champion safety initiatives toward zero-accident workplace
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma continuous improvement projects
- Oversee preventive maintenance, TPMs, and 6S standards
- Lead RPS and Shop Floor Board meetings
- Develop teams and foster positive workplace culture
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality on process improvements
- Support budget planning and cost-reduction efforts
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years large-scale fabrication/manufacturing experience
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Knowledge of e-coating, powder coating, and metal fabrication
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to multitask in dynamic, fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Paint, fabrication, or welding operations leadership experience
- SAP experience
Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, bending; extended time on factory floor; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
