Senior Staff Accountant

We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant with a strong background in sales tax compliance, income tax estimates, payroll tax reconciliation, and cash management. The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex tax requirements in a multi-state environment and will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely reporting and reconciliation of tax-related and cash management activities.

 

Roles And Responsibilities

• Prepare, file, and reconcile multi-state sales tax returns for the US, ensuring compliance with local and state regulations.
• Calculate and prepare quarterly and annual income tax estimates for review and submission.
• Reconcile payroll tax accounts to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
• Support the preparation of various tax reports and filings, including state and federal tax submissions.
• Manage cash flow forecasts, monitoring daily cash balances, and assisting with cash management and banking activities.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and tax accruals.
• Collaborate with the finance team to improve processes related to tax compliance, cash management, and general accounting practices.
• Work with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance and prepare documentation as required.
• Stay current with tax laws and regulations that may impact on the company, advising management on potential changes and implications.
  
  
  

Education, Experience And Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Proven experience with multi state sales tax compliance and income tax preparation
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger reconciliation
• Experience with Acumatica and Avalara a plus
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to work independently
