Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is seeking Sanitation Workers for a local client. The Sanitation Worker is responsible for the safe and efficient collection, disposal, and recycling of residential and commercial waste within the city limits.
Essential Functions
- Collect and dispose of garbage, yard waste, and recyclables from homes, businesses, and public areas
- Operate or ride on sanitation vehicles such as rear-loaders, side-loaders, or automated trucks
- Lift, carry, and empty refuse containers weighing up to 75 lbs
- Ensure safe and proper loading of waste into trucks, avoiding spills and damage
- Assist drivers with navigation, backing up, and route changes as needed
- Report mechanical issues, damaged containers, or route obstructions to supervisors
- Follow established routes and schedules while maintaining high service standards
- Perform routine maintenance tasks like washing trucks and cleaning work areas
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Interact professionally with the public and report any customer service concerns
Pay: $12.84/hr
Schedule: Mon-Fri 7AM-4:30PM
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, and walking for long periods
- Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality record
- Able to work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)
- Knowledge of safety practices and willingness to follow them at all times
