Job Title: Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic
Location: South Oklahoma City

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and other industrial equipment. This role requires strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting abilities, as well as experience working with diagnostic tools, schematics, and fabrication equipment. The ideal candidate has solid heavy-truck or heavy-equipment repair experience, strong technical skills, and a proven track record of reliability. This position plays an essential role in ensuring equipment safety, minimizing downtime, and supporting ongoing operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy equipment such as lift trucks, loaders, and industrial machinery
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Replace worn or damaged components, including bearings, pistons, gears, and major engine or hydraulic system parts
  • Overhaul major systems and perform complex repairs as needed
  • Install new equipment such as dump bodies, liftgates, and cranes; fabricate brackets, plumb hydraulic lines, and wire lighting components
  • Use diagnostic tools, software, and hand/air tools to complete repairs and service tasks
  • Document all repairs, inspections, and service work accurately
  • Follow all safety procedures, contamination control requirements, and HAZMAT rules

Pay: $20/hr plus 

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM with possible overtime

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in heavy truck and industrial equipment repair
  • Proficiency in diagnostics, electrical systems (including 12VDC), and hydraulic troubleshooting
  • Strong working knowledge of diesel, gasoline, and propane engines, hydraulic systems, and cooling systems
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and technical documentation
  • Welding and cutting torch experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and supervisors
