Job Title: Environmental Services Technician (EVS)
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Schedule: Varies (Days, Evenings, Weekends as needed)
Pay: $15.00/hour
Job Summary:
The Environmental Services (EVS) Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary hospital environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role plays a critical part in infection prevention by properly cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining all assigned areas within the facility.
Job Duties:
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas
- Sanitize high-touch surfaces to prevent the spread of infection
- Properly dispose of trash, linens, and biohazardous waste
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors and surfaces
- Restock supplies such as paper products and cleaning materials
- Follow hospital safety standards and infection control protocols
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively
- Respond to spills, urgent cleaning needs, and isolation room procedures
- Communicate with staff and patients in a professional, respectful manner
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or hospital EVS experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
- Ability to follow strict health and safety guidelines
- Must be able to work weekends or flexible shifts as needed
