About the Role

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a TIG Welder to join their fabrication team. This position focuses on welding and assembling fire sprinkler piping, components, and related systems according to strict industry and safety standards. Ideal candidates have strong attention to detail and experience working with thin-wall and schedule 10 to schedule 40 pipe materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on steel and/or stainless-steel pipe used in fire sprinkler systems
• Fabricate, cut, and assemble pipe sections based on blueprints and specifications
• Inspect welds to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with NFPA standards
• Operate cutting tools, grinders, and other shop equipment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Work with supervisors and installers to ensure timely completion of fabrication orders

Requirements

• Proven experience as a TIG welder, preferably in pipe fabrication
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, measurements, and pipe specifications
• Strong understanding of welding safety and best practices
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Reliable transportation and strong work ethic
• Experience in the fire protection industry is a plus, but not required

Preferred Qualifications

• Welding certifications (TIG/pipe welding)
• Experience working with fire sprinkler systems or industrial piping
• Familiarity with NFPA codes a bonus
