Shift Warehouse Receiving Supervisor
Full Time and Long Term Opportunities
Tuesday – Saturday
10am – 6pm
$20.00/Hr
· Provides onsite coordination and supervision of staff and volunteers during shift.
· Prepares monthly shift schedules; collects, compiles and uploads timesheets efficiently to ensure payroll is done on time and correctly.
· Assures staff arrive on time, complete their duties effectively, and are supported with adequate training and follow policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook, Safety Manual and other Habitat and ReStore guiding documents.
· Works alongside Sales Associates and Donation Ambassadors on the retail floor, at the cash register and in the receiving area, prioritizing covering staff and volunteer duties when they require breaks.
· Provides troubleshooting and answers staff questions about point-of-sale equipment and system (i.e., Thrift Cart software and related hardware).
· Responsible for training staff in various work functions, pricing structure and methods, safety and customer service. Assists ReStore Manager with an orientation of new staff and volunteers.
· Ensures that volunteers have engaging experience and learn new job skills, where appropriate.
· Enforces all the organizations’ policies fairly, making policy recommendations.
· Handles customer complaints as needed when escalating from sales or donation staff.
· Organize daily safety meetings with all staff and volunteers.
· Coordinates the inventory, storage and movement of donated and purchased product.
· Supervises daily product flow during shift, ensuring donations are handled with care and efficiency and the sales floor is adequately stocked and inspires shoppers.
· Ensures timely movement of merchandise from donation to cleaning, pricing, display, discounting and sale.
· As part of daily operations during the shift, aims to meet or exceed sales goals; meets or reduces operating expenses while maintaining or improving customers’ shopping experience.
· Assures that every on-site donor receives timely, courteous service.
· Supervises and assists with unloading on-site and store truck donations.
· Assures that donations are clean, priced and placed in the “Ready Zone.”
· Supervises and assists in pricing and labelling of merchandise to be sold.
· Supervises and assists with organizing and displaying store inventory including repacking and labeling.
· Assures that drivers properly service the box truck, trailer and equipment for safe operations.
· Coordinates store layout and merchandising, assuring displays of merchandise are pleasing and inspiring.
· Ensures a safe environment for staff, shoppers, donors and volunteers.
· Ensure phone is answered every time it rings.
· Assures that the receiving area, sales floor, bathrooms, storage and building exterior and parking are neat, clean and orderly and trash cans and recycling are emptied regularly.
· Responsible for seeing that all items are priced and organized.
· Assist in pickups and on-site acceptance of donations.
· Manage incoming donations so they are clean, priced and flow from receiving to showroom efficiently.
· Assist staff, volunteers to prepare appropriate space for incoming items.
· Facilitate the logical and attractive display of merch.
· Shows a commitment to promoting our Habitat safety culture and compliance with policies.
· Has the ability to work and communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
· Attends staff meetings and training sessions on safety, customer service, mission and more.
· Must be professional in appearance and a good ambassador of the brand, dressing neatly in a company shirt, hat or other provided outerwear or gear.
· Demonstrates an ability to arrive at work promptly and adhere to a schedule.
· Communicates clearly and professionally with supervisors, drivers, sales staff and customers, with a commitment to being part of our team.
· Demonstrate problem-solving skills and an ability to work under pressure.
· Is customer-service oriented, shows initiative, is honest, drug free, and has a “can-do” attitude.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience in staff supervision.
At least two years of experience in retail, resale, hospitality or related industry.
