Referral Coordinator

Full time, $24.28/HR

• Review clinical documentation and chart notes to determine the need for specialist consultations or diagnostics
• Verify patient insurance benefits and secure prior authorizations for specialty procedures and imaging to precent denials
• Inform patients of referral details, including appointments dates, times, locations, and any special preparation instructions
• Coordinate directly with external facilities, specialty offices, and testing centers to book appointments effectively
• Document all steps in the EMR to track the referral lifecycle and ensure referring physicians receive
• Assist patients with social or financial barriers transportation needs or interpreter services to help them access care
• 1-2 years for clerical or administrative experience in a medial setting, health insurance organization, or fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong knowledge of medial terminology, healthcare insurance guidelines, and coding
• Strict adherence to HIPPA and patient privacy laws
