Steel Building Frame Fabricator
Location: Woodburn, OR
Pay: $23.00+ per hour DOE
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Overtime as needed
Position Overview
Express Employment Professionals is recruiting a Steel Building Frame Fabricator for a manufacturing company in Woodburn. This role focuses on fitting and assembling structural steel components such as I-beams, columns, and trusses used in steel building construction.
Responsibilities

Fit and assemble structural steel components including I-beams, columns, and trusses

Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings

Layout and secure parts using tack welding and welding

Perform GMAW (spray transfer) welding

Operate plasma cutting equipment

Measure materials using a tape measure

Maintain production timelines and a safe work environment
Training
-
Month 1: Work with a senior fitter learning fitting procedures, part verification, and layout

Month 2: Train on more complex assemblies including auxiliary members and splicing components
Requirements
-
Certified in GMAW (spray) or able to pass a weld test

Proficient in blueprint reading

Proficient with a tape measure

Experience operating a plasma torch

Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly

Ability to stand for 8+ hours

Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime
Additional Qualifications
-
Must pass a 30–60 minute in-shop fit-up test

Must pass a drug screening

Structural steel or similar fabrication experience preferred
