CDL Towing & Recovery Driver
Location: Salem, OR
Pay: $23.00–$25.00/hour DOE + 30% commission on tows while on call
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Job Description
Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced CDL Towing & Recovery Driver for a local Salem-area employer. This opportunity offers competitive hourly pay, additional commission potential, and a comprehensive benefits package.
The position includes an on-call rotation, requiring the driver to take a company truck home every other night and every other weekend.
Key Responsibilities

Operate heavy-duty tow trucks to transport and recover vehicles.

Respond to towing, roadside assistance, and vehicle recovery calls.

Connect, secure, load, and unload vehicles using specialized recovery equipment.

Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and assist with truck-related issues.

Maintain towing equipment and vehicles in safe working condition.

Provide professional customer service throughout recovery assignments.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Valid CDL.
-
Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving or towing experience.

Mechanical aptitude; heavy-duty truck experience preferred.

Knowledge of towing and recovery equipment.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.

Must reside in Salem or Keizer.

Must pass a background check (no felony convictions).

Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb as needed.

Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Ability to operate a commercial vehicle for extended periods.
