Job Full Description
A client of ours in Lake Oswego is looking to hire a Flexo Press Operator who will assist in set up and operation of the printing press to produce labels on paper, plastic, foil, and film materials using UV and water-based inks. #1939LID
This is an evaluation to full-time hire position!
Duties:
- Read job order, load dies into press, install print cylinder on shaft, and install print cylinder in press
- Fill ink pans, screens, and pumps with prescribed inks
- Splice end of roll to stock remaining on press, adjusts tension, and feed as directed
- Start press, adjusting speed and alignment of stock to the print cylinder as necessary
- Engage print cylinders; adjust printing impression, and place print cylinders lead-to-lead
- Cut sample of approval strip from printed roll, inspect for imperfections such as print to print out of register, print to die out of register, missing impression, ink starvation or color adjustments
- Clean plates and print cylinders and dies
- Continuously monitor the web and video camera screen to ensure excellent print quality to include register, color consistency, and print cleanliness
- Assists in the performance of daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance
- Mix inks to produce and maintain desired colors and viscosity
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Mechanically inclined (prior maintenance/equipment repair experience is a plus)
- Prior experience in light industrial/manufacturing or assembly is a plus
- Printing and packaging background is a plus, but not required
- Good math skills, good color vision
- Positive, driven, and motivated
- Strong attention to detail
- Great attendance history
- HS Diploma or GED
- Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs frequently
Pay: $19.00/hr.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 3pm-1:30am
