Production Operator I
Schedule: Sun-Tues and every other Wed 3:15 AM-3:30 PM
Pay: $20.33/hr.
Position Summary
Production Operator is responsible for operating manufacturing equipment that transforms raw materials into finished products while ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and production standards. This entry-level position performs routine production tasks, maintains accurate inventory and production records, and assists in ensuring efficient workflow throughout the manufacturing process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate production equipment used in the manufacturing process to convert raw materials into finished goods.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products.
- Complete and maintain required production documentation, data sheets, and inventory logs.
- Perform in-process quality tests, including measurements such as hardness, weight, variation, pH, and moisture content, to ensure products meet established specifications.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify product quality issues or equipment malfunctions.
- Troubleshoot routine production and equipment problems to maintain optimal production levels.
- Follow blueprints, subassembly layouts, schematics, and work instructions to complete assigned manufacturing tasks.
- Track orders received, work completed, production output, and inventory levels.
- Coordinate workload, staffing, and equipment capacity with production requirements and inventory availability.
- Assist in preparing and monitoring production schedules in coordination with materials planning, production, and maintenance teams.
- Determine material requirements and requisition supplies based on production schedules and delivery dates.
- Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and operating procedures.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous manufacturing experience is helpful but not required.
- Little or no prior related experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, procedures, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic recordkeeping and data entry skills.
- Ability to identify and report equipment issues and production concerns.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Performs routine and repetitive production tasks under general supervision.
- Work is guided by established procedures, policies, and operating standards.
- Exercises limited independent judgment and refers non-routine issues to supervisors.
- Acquires foundational job knowledge and develops manufacturing skills through on-the-job training.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment and tools.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move materials in accordance with company safety guidelines.
