Shifts:
Mon-Thu 3:20p-1:50a, $24.63 (must start on Mon or Wed at 3:20)
Fri-Sun 5a-5:30p, $25.09 (1st day 8am on any Friday)
Job Summary
Our client is seeking dependable and detail-oriented Machine Shop Secondary Operators to join our manufacturing team in Newberg, Oregon. In this role, you will perform secondary operations on machined parts, ensuring products meet quality standards and specifications before moving to the next stage of production. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on work, have strong attention to detail, and thrive in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform secondary operations on machined metal and plastic components.
- Deburr, clean, inspect, and finish parts according to specifications.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures.
- Follow work instructions, blueprints, and production procedures.
- Report quality concerns and non-conforming parts to supervisors.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Package and prepare finished parts for internal transfer or shipment.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, assembly, machining, or production experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret basic work instructions and measurements.
- Basic math skills, including fractions and decimal measurements.
- Ability to use measuring and inspection tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent use of hands for gripping, handling, and operating tools.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying noise levels.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with deburring, polishing, sanding, or finishing operations.
- Knowledge of quality inspection processes.
- Familiarity with manufacturing safety procedures.
- Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
