Box Truck Driver – Local Shuttle Between Two Buildings
Job Summary
We are seeking dependable Box Truck Drivers to transport materials between two local facilities using a 24-foot box truck. This is a hands-on position that includes loading, securing, transporting, and unloading freight while maintaining clear communication with dispatch and customers.
Schedule
- Friday to Sunday: 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM
- Saturday and Sunday: 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM
- Saturday and Sunday: 5:00 PM - 1:30 AM
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Load freight into a 24-foot box truck using a manual pallet jack.
- Push and pull loads weighing 300-600 lbs.
- Secure freight with straps to ensure safe transportation.
- Verify all required items are loaded before departure.
- Operate the box truck safely and in compliance with traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Unload freight at customer locations.
- Notify customers when items exceed 600 lbs so they can provide forklift or powered-equipment assistance.
- Use a smartphone to:
- Review and access orders
- Receive route and job directions
- Communicate with dispatch and customers
- Maintain accurate documentation and a professional customer-service approach.
