Job Full Description
For our client we are looking for a Material Handler
Job pays $20.00 - $21.00 and is temp to perm, day shift 6-4:30pm, Monday - Thursday with OT as needed on Friday's
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Utilizes hand tools such as wrenches, plyers, tape measure, screw drivers, and hammers to disassemble or assemble components and equipment.
- Grinds, sands, cleans, or polishes objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing utilizing hand or power grinder and power sander.
- Grinding of materials, which employee must adjust controls to start, or stop equipment during grinding processes.
- Air chisel equipment to remove paint and rust.
- Utilizes plasma cutter or acetylene torch to cut metal pieces.
- Cleans and scrapes metal properties from equipment
- Paint touch up on equipment.
- Prepare equipment for shipment, securing and verifying equipment placing in shipping container.
- Measures, with tape measure, and marks equipment, objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met.
- Lifts, positions, and removes work pieces from machines to assist in fitting of equipment.
- Verifies quality of finished work pieces by inspecting them, measuring their dimensions.
- Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, and work in process by hand or by hand cart.
- Picks up and moves scrap from work areas; takes scarp or trash to proper outside containers.
- Reads work orders or other instructions to determine products specifications or material requirements.
- Records operational or production data.
- Works in a safe manner, keeps work area, machines, tools, and equipment clean and in orderly fashion.
- Performs other routine duties as requested.
