Job Title: Bindery Machine Operator
Location: Southwest Philadelphia, PA (in‑shop)
Pay: Starting at $20.00 / hour (with raises based on experience / performance)
Type: Full‑time, Monday–Friday, with possible overtime shifts
Job Summary
We’re seeking reliable, detail-oriented individuals to operate and maintain bindery and finishing machines in our print shop. You’ll help turn printed sheets into final products like books, catalogs, manuals, and brochures. This role is operational — hands-on work with mechanical equipment and quality control.
Key Responsibilities

Set up, adjust, and operate bindery equipment (folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, perfect binders, etc.)

Monitor machine performance and production quality

Inspect finished work for defects (alignment, cut accuracy, binding integrity)

Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs

Troubleshoot mechanical issues or notify maintenance as needed

Follow job specs, blueprints, or work orders

Package completed work and prepare it for shipment or storage

Maintain safety and housekeeping standards in the workspace
Qualifications & Skills

Prior experience in bindery, finishing, or print production (preferred)

Mechanical aptitude and willingness to work with machines

Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent quality

Ability to lift and carry stacks of paper / finished jobs

Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination

Ability to read job tickets, specifications, and basic measurements

Dependable, punctual, and able to work under deadline pressure

Willingness to learn and adapt
Work Schedule & Benefits

Standard shift: 8 hrs/day, Monday through Friday
