Job Full Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing various HR functions, including payroll management, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws. This position requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in various HRIS and accounting software to ensure the smooth operation of our human resources department.

Responsibilities
- Manage payroll processing using systems such as ADP, Paychex, or Kronos to ensure timely and accurate employee compensation.
- Oversee benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and communication with employees regarding their benefits options.
- Maintain HRIS data integrity through regular audits and updates, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Conduct data entry for employee records and maintain accurate documentation for all HR-related activities.
- Collaborate with accounting teams to support corporate accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation.
- Utilize financial software for payroll-related tasks and reporting.
- Assist in the development of HR policies and procedures that align with organizational goals while ensuring compliance with governmental regulations.
- Provide analytical support by generating reports related to workforce metrics, payroll analysis, and budgeting for HR initiatives.
- Support recruitment efforts by coordinating job postings, screening candidates, and facilitating onboarding processes.
- Attend safety meetings, prepare agendas and meeting minutes. Maintain training spreadsheet and file year end OSHA reports.
- Assist in planning employee functions and ordering company clothing.
- Assist with answering phones when necessary.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in human resources or related fields with a strong understanding of HR principles and practices.
- Strong knowledge of payroll management processes and accounting principles including debits & credits, journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Familiarity with certified payrolls a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) along with 10 key typing skills for accurate data entry. Able to learn and utilize accounting and payroll software.

- Associates degree in a related field and a SHRM member a strong plus but not required. 2-5 years of relatable experience.
