Electrician – Industrial Controls & Pump Skid Wiring

Position Overview
Express is seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to support the fabrication, wiring, and commissioning of our engineered systems. This role focuses on building industrial control panels, wiring prefabricated chemical feed and pump skids, and performing clean, organized terminations on both low-voltage control and low-voltage A/C circuits (up to 480 VAC).
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable reading electrical schematics, and takes pride in professional-grade workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Control Panel Assembly
- Build industrial control panels from engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Mount and wire relays, contactors, VFDs, breakers, PLCs, power supplies, and instrumentation.
- Route, label, and terminate wires following panel layout standards.
- Perform point-to-point continuity checks and function testing.
Pump Skid & Equipment Wiring
- Land field wiring on prefabricated pump skids (motors, instruments, solenoids, sensors, chemical feed equipment, etc.).
- Pull and terminate low-voltage control wiring (24VDC, analog signals, flow switches, level sensors).
- Pull and terminate low-voltage A/C wiring up to 480 VAC for motors, VFDs, heaters, and controls.
- Assist with equipment startup and troubleshooting.
Documentation & Standards
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layout drawings, conduit schedules, and I/O lists.
- Maintain wiring accuracy, neatness, and labeling for all builds.
- Follow NEC, UL508A panel-building best practices, and internal wiring standards.
- Document changes and redlines for engineering.
General Shop & Field Support
- Assist mechanical team with system integration when needed.
- Support field installations or service calls (occasional travel).
- Maintain clean workspace and proper tool care.
Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years experience as an electrician, panel builder, or controls technician preffered.
- Strong ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience wiring industrial control equipment and low-voltage circuits.
- Familiarity with 120–480 VAC motor circuits and protections.
- Ability to produce clean, organized wiring work.
Preferred
- Experience with PLC control panels (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.).
- Instrumentation wiring experience (4-20 mA, pulse signals, sensors).
- Familiarity with chemical feed or water treatment equipment.
- UL508A panel shop experience a plus.
Work Environment
- In-shop fabrication of control panels and pump skids.
- Occasional field wiring and equipment startup.
