Job Summary: We are seeking reliable and hardworking Snow Removal Laborers to join our team for the winter season. In this role, you will be responsible for clearing snow and ice from driveways, sidewalks, parking lots, and other designated areas to ensure safe access for pedestrians and vehicles. The position requires physical stamina and the ability to work in adverse weather conditions, including early mornings, nights, and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Snow Clearing: Remove snow and ice from walkways, driveways, parking lots, and other designated areas using shovels, snow blowers, plows, or other equipment.
- Application of De-Icing Materials: Apply salt, sand, or other de-icing materials to surfaces to prevent slipping hazards.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Safely operate snow removal equipment, including shovels, blowers, and plows, and perform basic maintenance as needed.
- Site Inspections: Assess areas to identify icy or hazardous spots, taking appropriate action to ensure the safety of pedestrians and vehicles.
- Documentation: Report hours worked, materials used, and any equipment issues to supervisors.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate protective gear and using caution in icy or challenging conditions.
Qualifications:
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing or moving for extended periods.
- Reliability and Punctuality: Must be available during winter months with flexibility for early mornings, nights, weekends, and potential on-call shifts.
- Experience Preferred: Prior experience with snow removal equipment and techniques is preferred, but on-the-job training can be provided.
- Valid Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license and clean driving record may be required for some roles involving driving company vehicles or operating plows.
Work Conditions:
- Primarily outdoors in cold, wet, and potentially severe winter weather conditions.
- May involve long or irregular hours depending on weather conditions and demand.
Compensation: Competitive hourly wage with overtime opportunities. Seasonal or on-call positions available based on need.
