Location: Hanover Twp
The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs used in the manufacturing of components for piling and foundation solutions. This role ensures high-quality production through precise programming, tooling selection, and collaboration with engineering and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and maintain CNC programs for milling, turning, drilling, plasma/oxy-fuel cutting, or other automated equipment used in piling product manufacturing.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining strategies and program requirements.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and safe operation.
- Perform test runs and first-article inspections to validate program accuracy and verify conformance to specifications.
- Optimize toolpaths and machining processes to improve cycle times, reduce waste, and maintain quality standards.
- Troubleshoot machining issues, including tool wear, program errors, setup problems, or material inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and production supervisors to support new product development and continuous improvement.
- Maintain documentation, including revision histories, setup sheets, and operational instructions.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and support a clean, organized work environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CNC Programmer in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Proficiency in G-code/M-code and common CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM, etc.).
- Strong understanding of machining operations, tooling, materials, and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read technical drawings, GD&T symbols, and engineering specifications.
- Problem-solving ability and strong attention to detail.
- Experience with metal fabrication for structural or heavy industrial products is a plus (piling, steel components, foundations, etc.).
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with large-scale fabrication or heavy steel manufacturing.
- Background working with thick-wall pipe, beams, or structural steel components.
- Knowledge of CNC plasma cutting, robotic welding, or automated drilling equipment.
