Shift: Fri - Sun 6am - 6pm
Location: Hanover Twp
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Bandsaw Operator to support fabrication and production operations in a piling and heavy materials environment. This role is responsible for accurately measuring and cutting steel materials using industrial bandsaw equipment while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate industrial bandsaws to cut steel piling and related materials to specified dimensions
- Read and interpret work orders, measurements, and cut lists
- Measure, mark, and inspect materials to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
- Adjust saw settings such as blade speed, feed rate, and coolant flow as required
- Monitor equipment during operation and identify any issues or malfunctions
- Perform routine equipment checks, blade changes, and basic preventative maintenance
- Safely handle heavy materials using cranes, hoists, or forklifts (as trained)
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and internal policies
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and production team members to meet deadlines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience operating industrial bandsaws or similar cutting equipment
- Experience working with steel, pipe, or heavy industrial materials is a plus
- Ability to read measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and blueprints
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of shop safety practices
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift, push, or pull materials up to 50 lbs (with assistance or equipment as needed)
- Ability to work in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations
